let's drink and sing, 'we're painting the roses red' in the garden

with ceiling brushes
or a roller
but it must be midnight, with a full moon
high on vowels

at the local homebase store they ask,
'brushes for ceiling paint or for painting ceilings?'

my son is writing a newspaper
and wants to interview me about
difficult parking spaces

we're going to disneyland next week
let's do the interview on the spinning teacups
where i can rest one arm on the rim,
listless,
in a leather jacket

A whimsical swirl of everyday life and imagination, this poem dances between the mundane and the magical, blending humour, family, and surreal moments under a full moon.
