Let's All Do Our Part

Regardless of what some folks are saying The weather is changing, climate’s askew Major storms threaten atypical places, Is there nothing at all we can do? Let’s begin by developing a new respect For this planet all of us call our home, Consider cutting back on fossil fuels Using fewer plastics, learning to defoam. We can resolve to reduce pollution Be more careful with disposable waste, Recycling is an excellent practice We should all begin doing it, posthaste. The glaciers and icecaps are rapidly melting We are destroying the vital ozone layer, And it appears a time is quickly coming When all of us won’t have a single prayer. In truth, some will never be believers They will, in ignorance, never play a part, So, it seems to me rather obvious We must hurry up and get a head start. Let’s face it, global warming is upon us, The weather is changing, climate’s askew But, believe me, when I hasten to say There’s plenty to slow it, we surely can do.

This is the key. We all have to get onboard. How can we do this when we cannot even get people to take a vaccine? "We should all begin doing it, posthaste."

Indeed, we should, Caren. I'm very hopeful that more and more people will see the tremendous need to take care of our climate, just as I am still hopeful that everyone will take the vaccine. But, I do know we have some people who will just never comply, for whatever moronic reason.

It would be so nice if all would do their part and recycle. I do like that some countries require recycling. They do not do much to enable people in the US to do this. They should have bins everywhere for it.

I couldn't agree more, Andrea. The town that I live in doesn't have any recycling going on that I know of, and I don't know exactly how to change that. Maybe I should go to a town council and bring up the idea...as I'm sure someone has!

I fully agree Milton , every one must play their part because if they don't then things will get a lot worse and once past the point of no return the big hand on the doomsday clock will be close to midnight. Tom

That is so true, Tom. Even if we cannot get everyone on board, I think we can get enough people to slow this inevitability down. I doubt I'll be around for that "doomsday," but I do fear for my grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you, Tom.

Milt, this is not just individual cases... what about those companies dumping all the wastes with no regards.... time is really a changing to really, really a wild world.... I don't need the media for these facts.... I see them...

You are so right, Marilene. Amazing that some of these major world corporations are casting a blind eye toward these dangers. I understand there are major sites of pollution...garbage and rubbish...in the oceans. I wonder how much of that has come from the cruise industry?
