L'Etrangere

(fr.) The stranger My French is not good enough to tell you what I want so much to tell. Words are necessary for any love, especially for the French one: it gets cold without hot confessions. The lovely words dedicated to your beauty and the sweet nothings between kisses light up the halo of happiness around a girl's head. This is where my problems come from: instead of learning foreign languages, I was a stranger without a map, an earth without a moon, a tanned careless god without heaven, but then I met you… I'm the only one to blame that I love you but I can't be loved.

Wow. I loved this. Yet it was sad. I read it not once but 4 x's. A truly moving thought captured, and kept the whole way. Ann

-Richard

I always enjoy the French language...oui oui! I took three years but am no where near fluent! It helped me to get around France a little bit. Enjoyed your poem!

The depths and beauty in this new poem, tho' composed in a language that I understand some of (by way of a one year French language class in high school 1968) is a marvelous poetic tribute to romance/love and the wonders of the human soul. A gem, a fav and a great pleasure to have found and to have read this morn my friend!
