Oh let my soul flee To the purple mountains Where poetry breathes— Where dawn’s shadows Move silently with the sun. Let my eyes feast on Dew drops and Scottish broom With its golden bloom. Let the fresh scent of conifers Satiate and restore my soul As it soars with the wayward wind Where verses resplendent And timeless intertwine With the glorious divine. © Connie Marcum Wong 8-8-17 rev. I really enjoyed that line, "let my soul flee"-- ah how one really feels that way sometimes, Connie and you've written this with grace -- poetry does serve as one's sanctuary and also have these deeper connections, so true. Beautifully written-- thank you so much for passing by my poem, I'm so sorry for not being active at PFT, I will rectify that soon, and post a poem or 2! I'm still here (as in physically)...sending you hugs <3 sorry, didn't know, saw comments below, praying for your surgery

Scotch Broom was a real pain in Washington State and gets in the way of everything else. Guess you could say it was a little on the wild side. Keep up with great poems. I am over 300 poems now and God is doing a great job motivating me to write more. I'm in the mood for scotch, simply because your poems are near me. Jim Horn

This poem paints a very pretty picture! Is Scottish broom a kind of flower? It is a new one on me. Nice job here and thank you for your kind words on my poetry. Aloha Matthew Anish

Thank you Matthew. Scottish broom also known as Scotch broom native to Europe also grows wild all over the USA. Scotch broom is an upright shrub in the pea family, with bright golden yellow flowers. They are really beautiful. Aloha, Connie

Dawn's early light and majesty. How about Connie's early light and majesty instead? Read my latest poem for Jan Allison where I mentioned Isle of Man. James Thomas Horn

Thank you so much for such a lovely compliment James. I read your poem and left a message for you. Were you speaking of the Isle of Mann? I would love to visit there one day. I have visited England and Ireland, but never made it there. Aloha, Connie
