Let It Rain

What a long hot year here,
the cactus are wilting.
Cement is getting soft,
birds in the trees are cooked.
Long hot days with hot nights,
must stop for everyone.
Let It Rain-cool rain now.

I'm not sure where you are, but it is 9 degrees and dry where I am now. A little heat would be nice, but I totally get your point (and you did post this months ago). I enjoyed your poem. Please keep them coming! Thanks. Very best, Bartholomew

No more 115 to120'sss. Hooray!!! If you have 9 degrees, then guess some heat would feel good. Have a wonderful/blessed day writing away...........

Hi, it is still 98 degrees and still cooking..this is a chaming work.. I especially favored the last line! It was quite original and sounded, like a line from a jazz song, I call it, magically, jyrical~~~ Pangiie

Dear Paula, It has been a very, hot, summer here! CA is dry and should berenamed , a dessert Southern California really had had terrible, fires that you know about We did not have penough water and I don’t even know if they have it now. Our governor is a moron and doing more damage than he’ll ever know but maybe one day God will punish I am glad that you contacted me today re..the cat poem.! Heartfelt thanks. “ Pangie”

No soft cement, just thought it was a great idea for this write. Do you remember when they would cooked eggs on the sidewalk in the hot summertime??? I love the Texas rain storms - absolutely beautiful to watch and can be quite noisy! I hope the birds have shelter! :)
