Let It Be


A teacher I will always be,
But sometimes cases aren't for me.
I can't butt in; it's not my place.
If so, someone would bust my face!

Some jerk parks in the fire lane spot,
Or cuts me off without a thought,
He should be taught a lesson, see.
It's not my job.  Just let it be.

If someone's talk is coarse and crude,
I want to teach them: Don't be rude.
They need a lecture--maybe three!
It's not my job.  Just let it be.

They're thoughtless, selfish all around,
A shining knight cannot be found.
"The rules do not apply to me!"
But, (breathe in deeply, hold, exhale)
It's not my job.  Just let it be.

Thanks for stopping by my page! You have me imagining photographers taking pictures of everyone in the grocery store parking lot, or bankers handing out money on the sidewalk downtown! Landscapers replacing the dead tree in my yard even though I did not ask them to. LOL!

I'm doing better about letting it be with my actions and words. I'm afraid my face still wants to get involved with disapproving looks or raised eyebrows!
