Let It Be

There is a place I know quite far from here,
Across the oceans and so far away
Where there lives a poet who is a dear,
When here tis night and over there tis day.

So let me conjure a fantasy
In which dogwood trees are blooming pure white
And only you and I can clearly see
Birds of red and blue above us in flight.

The air is scented with a sweet perfume
In this enchanted fairyland of dreams
Of happy days and nights that end too soon
As we share our spirits, hearts, and sweet schemes.

If only we were able to be free
To let it be, let it be, let it be.

A TRULY WONDROUS AND UPLIFTING SONNET , PENNED BY TWO GREAT POETS. Flowed as if written by one pen , which is a marvelous feat in itself. Bravo, to both poets. A gem and now a fav for me.

Thank you so much, Robert. I will have to tell Budgie (White Wolf/Rick Keeble) what you said. It was our first collaboration and was such a joy to do.He and I are basically opposites and yet we think so much alike. So, it was "easy peasy". lol Carole
