Laundry Day

I'd just done some washing
I'd hung it on the line
The sun it shone delightfully
I thought "this weather will stay fine"

Then I heard the weather forecast
Gee blimey it said rain
So to myself I did say
Must bring it in again

The sky turned dark and cloudy
As the wind began to howl
I was glad I brought that washing in
As it turned into a gale

Don't I know it Lindsay, but as you know we need the rain so I put my washing out, mind you last week I had to use the dryer as it literally pissed down and no way was I going out there, but I must not complain, thank you so much for reading this and take care.......Vera

Oh Eve, I do feel so sorry for you weather wise, we do see it on the news sometimes and you really go through it. So glad you like my laundry poem, yes I never thought of it as a diary, we do have brilliant weather for washing and I wash nearly every day, mind you in the winter sometimes I have to use the dryer but I try not to as the elec. bills goes sky high, take care my dear friend.....Vera

A very entertaining poem, Vera! It appears that you have reliable weather forecasts! Most times of the year we find it easy to dry the washing, similar to yours. [I can imagine the howl turning into a wail...] ~ Regards // paul

Hi Paul, yes we have the most perfect washing weather, I hang washing out every day and I can always guarantee it will get dry, mind you my line is undercover so in winter I can still get it dry and yes we do get a lot of strong winds, anyway thank you so much for the comment and take care.......Vera

Dear Vera I use to hang my laundary but here by the water we have to watch out for spiders, and I brought some in one time with my clothes that bit us, but nice piece, and don't worry about the surgery I'm not going to chicken out, but I'm just worried about my big guy, ashley will have to take care of him for me I guess, well wish me luck sis, and say hi to Peter for me, love you guys, cheri d.

Ah Cheryl thank you so much for this lovely comment, now you mentioned the spiders, well funny you should say that because the other day I bourght my washing in and on Jakobs undies was the biggest spider you have ever seen, I nearly had a fit, I managed to knock it off and I hated doing it but I had to kill it, mind you it wasn't a poison one, just a big hairy wolf spider, will drop you a line as soon as you are out of hospital,, Take care.........Vera

Laundry day...I wish I had a place to hang laundry out to dry. There's no dryer sheet that equals the fresh smell of wind dried sheets...luxurious. Loved your write, Vera.

Oh I totally agree with you Lin, the smell of my sheets on my bed is so refreshing, we are very lucky as we do have lovely drying weather, put them out in the morning and bring them in at night, only takes a couple of hours to dry, mind you it's a different story in the winter but we don;t have much of a problem, take care my and thank you,,,,,,,Vera

Hi Jan, first of all how are you, well I hope, we are very lucky over here as I can get my washing dry every day, also my clothes line is under cover and it is the wind and breeze that drys it but in winter I do have a dryer which I won't use unless we are desperate as it uses too much power, thank you for the lovely comment, love to the family and take care.....Vera
