Laundry

Who do we root for? Which guys do we cheer? Since most of “our” players won’t be here next year. You cannot predict it, there’s no way to know which free agents leave and which scrubs are let go. Some guys will be traded, some waivered away. There’s no way to tell whether players will stay. It isn’t just this club but other clubs too; it’s out with the old and then in with the new. For, every team thinks with the right mix of guys October will bring them the ultimate prize. So always stay true to the team that you chose. Don’t root for the players–just root for their clothes.

Thank you....it was my husband who first suggested it was really the jerseys I was cheering for. :)

lol There is a World Baseball Classic and many countries that I don't expect to participate are represented. The only conceit to baseball is "October" when baseball holds its annual championship series. Other sports do it at other times of the year.

I am from a country where that sports is not a sport at all! I am not familiar with it. But this poem I love.

Thank you! I used to have a thing for baseball and I've written many poems about it.
