Such a deep poem, Mo... that really resonated with me. Some relationships are so difficult. I feel like I understand my mother better now than when she was alive. *hugs*

Yes, mere understanding doesn't make the feelings go away. I'm sure I'll be "unloading" this for a while myself!! ;)

Thank you you Rhona, I thought it might resonate with some, for whom the mother love poems just don't. I think the damage she could have done has been mitigated by my understanding of her how's and whys, still, apparently, a weight I have to unload ;), *hugs* tenfold in return <3 xomo

Precisely. Touche… And endearing as well. (I was secretly hoping that you'd just forgotten a comma between the words of the title. Alas...) Best wishes and no more subtractions for you, just additions! Best wishes, Gershon

You know I love using more than one meaning at once, in a word. ;), Thank you dear. xomo <3

Confessing her fear not to love is her admittance of loving! Enigmatic and thoughtful dearest, Maureen!

Thank you Tom; we did indeed. It wasn't easy. One thing I have learned with both my mother's and my grandmother's passing, is that compassion would suggest that closure need not be a two way street. xomo

Ah a possible shared possabilaty. I have to say Maureen I read this over and over putting a period in different places, but never found complacency.

Sadly she never really learned how to love, or be loved. Thank you my friend. xomo

I hope so. It was a huge burden for her. We had been estranged, she was terminal, I insisted on seeing her, she let it all out. I forgave her before she died. I have to unpack if I'm going to get my head right ;), xomo <3
