Cleopatra, the last Pharaoh of Egypt,
could have had Caesar or Anthony as a co-regent,
but rather than putting such power in either man's grasp,
she put leadership decisions in the path of an asp.

Love it, CayCay. Not many Soupers wtir clerihews which says much about the paucity of their knowledge of world history. I have a few on Cleopatra and Julius Caesar too. All historical personages are fodder for a clerihew. Yes, I have several poems on fleas. I'll look them up on my master files and post one or two for your pleasure. Oh dang it, Caycay, yours was a funny one, but I did not like the use of clasp for that one end line!! Crap, I would love to have seen this one higher on the list, but I was judging it blind!! Congrats, dear, the idea was very clever.
