'Mated Swans' by Lin Lane ~ 2017

Our three-fold cord was braided for strength but it's unraveled and has come unbound We are two idle hands of a timeless clock that for too long have been left unwound A pair of mute swans, swimming in circles lost in confusion, neither uttering a sound In the last days of winter the sky is gloomy If the sun breaks through love may be found

Lin, I enjoyed very much. I especially like the idea of a timeless clock that is left unwound. And you painting is very nice as well. Nicely done on both counts. John

A write full of melancholy, but with a glimmer of hope, that's what we need these days, loved the painting also!

It wasn't headed in a melancholy direction, but that's where it ended up. Thanks for liking both, the poem and painting, J.D.
