Icebergs are melting Sea level is rising fast-- Bleak the land's future!* © Demetrios Trifiatis 08 November 2022 - *Science has established, beyond doubt, that the window for climate action is closing rapidly. Thus from the 6th of November 2022, world leaders are meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, for two weeks of climate negotiations to cut carbon emissions so that our planet is saved. This Haiku is my tiny contribution.

Dear friend Demetrios, your writing is poignant and intelligent. Climate change is a major issue in our modern society. And as we've seen, Earth isn't taking this death lying down; she's putting up a fight in the form of floods, fires, and smog.

I like what one of the speakers said, we're heading for climate hell with our foot on the accelerator, how true that is. I can't see all those Factories that produce clouds of smoke and toxic waste stopping anytime soon. But mother earth is dying and is fighting back, evidence we've seen already, with floods, wildfires and air pollution. Tom

My first poem on the subject was written back in 1985 when I restarted writing poetry. One day I will repost it. Unfortunately, most people do not believe there exist such problem. Thank you for caring. Blessings.
