Lament of My Life-Contest
Hope rest my soul, not from the pain
But from grave acts yet unforgiven
And from my heart remove the stain
That leaves its mark among those grieving.
Make known the harm of which I bare
Won't feel much less when I am gone
But if I could but share my prayer,
I would for fortune, I have drawn.
At peace, my wish is to reside,
Lest not from cost, I've shared no claim
Make pure my conscience to abide
From love, for that I've failed to shame.
