Wisconsin Dells? That immediately comes to mind. Don't hop out of a canoe there if you get impatient with the man helping the others out, because believe it or not, the water might be way over your head as you go down down down down down. And your children will be furious, because they have to waste time watching you get dry before they get their dinner. Thanks for THAT memory!

You're sure right about the water in that Lake, as it gets real deep real fast, with no real warning. That aside, my favorite vacation memories center around that Lake: The Tommy Bartlett Show and all...But the treasure of them all was watching those wispy ghosts float off of the lake at 5:45 a.m. or so every morning. Haunting, yet peaceful. :)

I feel like I'm on that Wisconsin lake right now-so still and serene-

Meet you there, maybe in mid-August when the dawn spirits seem to come alive as they drift off of the clearwater lakes. (I was picturing Lake Delton in the Dells)... :) gw
