Lake Side Birch Trees

I could look at this painting
forever, oh Klimt was a talent
lake side with birch trees is where I would like to be
beside the dappled blue still water . . .
         picking yellow buttercups
bluebells and purple larkspur growing wild, oh beautiful
        oh dream
          so sublime

    Klimt takes me away
to a serene place in my mind
to a divine green dream of nature and tranquility
but the painting- I must leave behind
for I think the gallery would miss it . . .
though when days are rainy and I am forlorn, I always go
        to view
           the beauty painted

A beautiful Ekphrasis. The slender birch trees surrounded by buttercups and the tranquillity of the place bewitch the readers....

lovely write about this beautiful painting - I know you love the art gallery. Have to admit, I'd never heard of this artist, but I love that painting. Thanks for the win in your contest x

Jack, thank you so much for the compliment on my poem and the painting, yes, I love this one, such tranquility, we have lots of his art at the National Gallery of Canada but he is not Canadian !
