Notes About The Poem

La Ballerine Violette

Music of life, she alone, chooses.
Though a host others, think, she loses?

She tourjettes high, above life’s discords,
Leaps to Ravel’s melodious chords.

Loss and pain are her greatest gain.
Gratitude, raises her high above pain.

“Pavane for a Dead Princess”,how it moves her.
Adorned, in purple, in front of her gold, leafed mirror.!

Purple-satin toe shoes, tied around beautiful legs.
Her wish, to dance forever, of God, she begs!

Glad you got to have the dance experience. Ballet is a very difficult and graceful form. Thanks for sharing some of your experiences with us through your poetry, my dear friend. Hugs, Bill

Yes, I had all ages asking me to dance, no matter where I was, I do not know why, Elena and I went out one night to a club. All the young men askedmeto dance, those old dudes asked her. Attraction of opposite ages? I got married in City Hall. No reception, no dancing. Pangie

Hello Panagiota, you were lucky to be able to dance like that. I never did like the reception after the wedding. the food was fine. I never had anyone asking me to dance. So i listened to the music, and silently ask myself-"Why am I here?"Hugs./ Darlene/ xxx

Hi Darlene, I, too love watching it! But performing is even better… even dances at weddings, I was never one to sit. It kills me that I cannot dance anymore! I did all kinds of dancing for decades. I shall remai grateful. Hugs, Panagiota ccc

Poetry in motion Pangie, le ballerinas really do push themselves through the pain barrier, and make it look effortless with a smile, but hey you also gotta hand it to the gymnast gals doing a Tour Jette on the Beam, You’re on fire today, cheers David

Well, David, do take some credit. I, with all my heart, found….your poetry set off a fire within me. I cannot explain this at all!! But I sincerely thank you “On fire “is an outstanding compliment. Merci! I have no desire to be bland or ordinary. So let’s see what I can do tonight. Cheers from CA Panagiota xo PS. I actually did a solo ballet to the Blue Danube in purple toe shoes. My hair bedecked in violets and satin ribbons. Mmmm. What a lush memory,

Hah, Stephan, little do I see me as gifted, I am but a beginner here, people here have been witting for decades before me. So,,,I have a long, long way to go…But with no lessons in poetry, I think I do my best. Sentences on paper are not poetry to me. I have to master meter and feet. But, I promise to do my best for now ..I can express myself, yes. Is is all poetry. I think not. Panagiota xo.
