Notes About The Poem

L Milton Hankins

Milt would comment on my poems
and make me feel real nice
He was friendly as one could be
and there was never any price

He ran poetry contests that were hard
and made you use your brain
He loved poetrysoup
and the soupers all the same

But now he's up in heaven
where he's probably writing too
He's penning awesome poetry
for his wife there too

I wish I could be as wonderful
as this man was
he was an idol and a role model
that gave out lots of love

Thanks for sharing this. Meanwhile, by God's grace, I greet you with the peace and joy from the Lord toward a prosperous New Year 2023 along this present: "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23 of the King James Bible). Thanks likewise for my placement in your recently judged contest. God bless you.

Robert, a beautiful tribute to Milton, well done, he would love it ! He was all the things you wrote and will be so missed. My heart is broken in a thousand pieces. In his very last poem, Milt ends it with the words, Bye - Bye Don't cry, how can we not cry, those words will haunt me for a long time, blessings

I’ve just seen Jenna’s blog ~ so, so, sad to hear about Milt.
