Kyrielle

Kyrielle Dry caverns yearn for fountainheads Splashing whirlpools filling streambeds; Dusty grottos of emptiness Beg for wellspring’s joyful excess. Parched hollows anticipation Waits for waves of transformation; Longs for aqua waves elation Surging tides lyric vibrations. Deep reservoir of creation Hears the flowing invitation; Swirling clear tides swell in ascent Wellsprings chant in a new advent. Dulcet fountains gush in rebirth Sweet waters burst out from dry earth; Aquifers of waters that live Bathes the soul with grace that forgives. 8-10-22

I love poems about water. I didn't know, and still don't, actually, what a Kyrielle is, but I thought it was one of the most beautiful names I ever heard! Good job here, and good luck in your future endeavors. Bryan

Hi Bryan! Thank you so much! I always enjoy your visits! I, too, love poems on water and everything related! Water is an amazing subject for poetry with so many opportunities. Kyrielle means stream and represents thought, intuition and wisdom. It comes from the French. And a perfect paring of poem type and theme! It is a beautiful word that, for me, literally dances like a stream. All the best. Blessings!

This is such a sweet song of joy with the rejuvenating waters soaking the parched land and the soul..... combining both the ephemeral and the perennial. As ever, your images gleam with a rare radiance, Sam ! All the Best !

Hi Valsa! I was sure I had responded to your lovely message! :( Sigh. You have such an ability to go directly to the heart and theme of a poem and have perfectly described the effect I was hoping to create - a song of joy like a clear running stream. Thank you for that gift. You are a blessing! I kept thinking about the Kyrielle being a song. So glad that came through! All the best. Blessings!

It's always pure joy to read your creations my rhythm and rhyme sister! All your rhymes are exquisite here as is your divine oneness with nature and how it reflects the glory of the Creator. "Aquifers of waters that live / Bathes the soul with grace that forgives" is simply soul-filling, though "Surging tides lyric vibrations" is also a personal favorite. Deep pools of blessing to you, sister Sam ~ R&RBro

Hi John, alias R&R bro (I like that), had a wonderful time composing this poem. Turns out this isn't a kyrielle which repeats the last line of the first stanza at the end of each stanza like a song refrain! Aargh!!! Went back and edited it to bring it into the rule book! I called it Kyrielle Two. Anyhoo - I still like this poem very much and so glad you do too poetry bro! I loved focusing on the essence and mystical qualities of water. Sending you waves of blessings in joyful excess! Also for the Friars.

Knowing Kim somewhat, I think she is going to really like your kyrielle. Maybe mine she will not like so much. You used more imagery! Well done.

Thank you so much Andrea! I am so glad that you liked this poem. Went back and looked at the definition of a Kyrielle again only to discover that I had written a quatrain instead of kyrielle as the last line of each stanza wasn't a repeat of the last line of the first stanza! Aargh - as Charlie Brown would say. Did a re-write in the proper form! I did like your entry very much! I have made so many mistakes in the past I have developed the habit of re-checking my entries! Hope you are enjoying summer in the Wasatch! Blessings.
