Kyiv
I watch a video of a man walking the streets
of Ukraine’s largest city.
He went there for proof of the war.
He has recorded blocks and blocks
of streets on which nothing significant was going on.
He shows his own video of TV news crews with cameras
outside the station of the train on which he arrived.,
drawing his viewers’ attention to “crisis actors.”
Through this man’s recording of events,
the streets are lackluster, as if on lock-down.
He mentions how news in his own country
has shown bombing, yet he finds no signs of it in Kyiv.
I am sure civilians somewhere are suffering in Ukraine.
Maybe they are hiding in the city, I don’t know.
The man’s video shows no fighting.
I am also sure that Russia’s tyrant leader Putin
is an indecent human.
What his full intentions are remain to be seen.
I do not know enough about Ukraine
to really understand what’s happening there.
Is Mainstream Media feeding us contrived stories?
Is the video I saw of Kyiv for real?
As I no longer trust the media, how can I know the truth
of anything they say or show?
When I hear about bio labs and conflicting stories,
I can feel only confusion for myself and the world
and sadness for the Ukrainian people.
