Kite Flying
I give her free play
Up in the sky
Holding the tension in my thread
I feel every fiber and ligament
In her being
Throb to neuron impulses of wind
She has something to say
And nerve and fiber
Throbbing to tell
I hear her sing petulently
As the wind slaps her face
She rises with grace
A few small bows
And I standing next to trees
And power lines
Rippled with apprehension
But played out the tension
And she rose higher
Pulling for freedom
From my hands
That breathe for her to live
She is such a beauty
A beautiful creation
Of man's desire to fly
The mind
Above the earth like soaring bird
I let her fly
Above me
Nippling her string
My body with the vision
Is calm but stirred.
