sweet friend, feeling beyond devastated
  your bruised heart weak and beaten
     your body your worst foe

how I would love to take away your pain -
  fight...   can't let this swindle you
     of your spirit life too 

what I would give to replenish your soul
  with soothing serenity
     and see you smile once more
