Khonshu, Moon God
During times of ancient civilization, Khonshu was a god of Celestial Heliopolis, worshipped by Egyptians. He once posed as a human pharaoh then ascended into the role of god of the moon.

In modern times, archaeologists Peter Alraune and his daughter, Marlene uncovered Khonshu's statue, but Peter was killed by mercenary, Raoul Bushman. Marc Spector was an ally of Bushman until he left him in the desert to die. With a last bit of energy, Spector crawled into the tomb and prostrated himself before Khonshu's statue. Miraculously, Spector rose to life, claiming that Khonshu resurrected him to serve the just cause of vengeance in the guise of Moon Knight. Wearing the statue's cloak, he became the crime-fighter.

Moon Knight keeps a statue of Khonshu in his home, but Bushman destroyed it, leaving Moon Knight drained of his power. Fortunately, Marlene gave him another, and Marc's mystical powers were restored through the abilities of Khonshu. He's able to inhabit Marc's body, allow him superhuman strength, is able to teleport, and can appear to him through illusions in the form of other people.

It's through Moon Knight, that Khonshu was able to experience interaction with the Avengers. There were moments of disagreements such as Moon Knights romance with Tigra, and it was revealed that Mockingbird killed Phantom Rider in a time travel adventure and Moon Knight left the Avengers to confront Phantom Rider's ghost. There were also many ties between Khonshu and Moon Knight. Both suffered from world ending visions due to Mephisto, but Spector drew powers from Doctor Strange and Thor, the help of Khonshu's cult, Ghost Rider, Iron Fist and more.
