Key Ingredient For Soup
From someone who did not know him well:
To a supporter, a poet, a contest host
Acrostic all the way to villanelle
Here is my version of a toast
Milt, who read new poems everyday
And wrote of all the things he loved the most
Unafraid to stand up, not back away
Complimenting strangers as well as friends
With something sincere and kind to say
A spirit lives on as a good life ends
Memories remain to help recoup
Still writing somewhere as he transcends
In a unique, diverse, poetic group
He was a key ingredient in this bowl of soup
