Juxtaposition
Juxtaposition
tuesday morning
garbage truck rattles, roars
an early reveille
quiet
`recycle truck
bits of card board flying
routes me from deep
winter’s repose
shhhhhhhh
the snow plow
scraping silence from my road
I AM AWAKE!!!
traffic
bear wanders silently
on heavy padded paws
owl’s wings barely whisper returning to her nest
racoons stir and sleep again hollowed trunks
deer step gingerly upon a daily path
heads held high
vigilant, nostrils flare
gulping in frigid air
for the scent of wolf.
moving on
welcome peace returns
a benediction in white
wild mice search for seeds
