Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition tuesday morning garbage truck rattles, roars an early reveille quiet `recycle truck bits of card board flying routes me from deep winter’s repose shhhhhhhh the snow plow scraping silence from my road I AM AWAKE!!! traffic bear wanders silently on heavy padded paws owl’s wings barely whisper returning to her nest racoons stir and sleep again hollowed trunks deer step gingerly upon a daily path heads held high vigilant, nostrils flare gulping in frigid air for the scent of wolf. moving on welcome peace returns a benediction in white wild mice search for seeds

I spend a lot of time with nature, or, I should say "out in it" — biking, hiking, etc. but I never slow my mind down to experience it as you portray it. I know it exists as such, but to wander your words gives me pause, as though sitting here at the 'puter I have a greater connection with nature than when I am in it. A writer who can do this is a true writer indeed. ~ john

Thank you for the great compliment. I have maturing to thank for my observations, in part. It slows one down then bends you forward a bit so you are pointed in the correct direction. It is as though you are given the best at the end.

You have certainly shown what is important within the day...how nature responds to a day, versus how we respond to them! We have definite ignorance of the truth in nature when we face the day without looking peacefully at it in wonderment! Just like how I viewed your poem, in true amazement! I thought your write was written in delightful loveliness this morning, Great Work my friend!!

I really hope that it was soothing to you. Like a balm that calms and takes the sting away. While you are healing is a good time to look for the small things around you. Russell I know you could do wonders with your observations. Be well today and tomorrow we will worry about when it comes. .
