Juxtaposed

Youth told me What a joy it is To meet with greets And smiles and cheers All the way on the streets And everywhere else You walk on Just because The body that holds you Is young and firm enough To please! What a joy indeed To be treated As a most prized and precious jewel To be offered drinks, and to be made to laugh over Silly but warm jokes! What a joy To be given attention, even From those whom you deem as being strangers! Old age looks on And says Enjoy it all while you can For What a tragedy it is To be ignored But heeded only for issues Like religion and spirituality Or for money matters Simply because The body that carries you Has drooped and has wrinkled To such an extent that It becomes obvious That you won't please anyone!
