This past week, 48 of 50 state saw an increase in the # of new corona virus cases reported. 36 states saw staggering increases.  Florida, for example, reported 9,585 new cases in the last 24 hours alone!  -- msn.com/en-us/news

Just when we thought that we had it licked the wily little bug licked us back Just when we thought we had it beat the stubborn virus beat us back Just when we thought we could open the country up we have to close parts of it down again Can we get things right now and for the foreseeable future: Wear your mask -- Watch your distance -- Wash your hands C'mon, America! You need to do better! Much better! It's a matter of Life or Breath...

well said, gershon! it blows my mind that so many people (including on this site) are still in denial about this.

Everywhere, so many in denial. Even in Illinois, where the numbers have been going down. Only 15 deaths due to COVID in the last 24 hours... Heard there were only 5 deaths in NY during the same time period. Don't know if it was NYC or NY State. Still, that's great... So, even where people are more 'woke' to this, unlike Texas or Florida, young and old alike seem to be in freefall denial. Oh, well. ~ Gershon

I am concerned to see a massive closed in mob of people in the pride parade reported in Chicago. Stay safe!

Yes, indeed. The usual blatant disregard for sound scientific, medical advice -- from the people most likely to benefit from complying with it. Go figure people out. ~ Another dumb Homo Sapien

Of course crowds but they can’t help themselves. I’m bored too as all dickens but keep to myself. Those selfish are digging us a bigger grave, suffocating our existence, climbing on our backs...I say back off! Be blessed, fine poet! Church was a great part of my day (wore a mask and we sat apart) but worshipping and the Word is awesome.

Well, I'm glad that you can enjoy Church... I can't attend synagogue here in Chicago, as (Orthodox) synagogues are barring people over 70 without proper medical clearance... And I surely don't qualify... So, truth be told, I would be uneasy in synagogue at this point, anyway -- even if all the protocols were being kept, (which they aren't, of course). Here's to you, Kim. ~ Gershon

So well said, Gershon. And this is exactly how the virus acts out in the body too. It fights and fights...getting stronger over some time. It is coming back with a vengeance in society due to bungled plans and carelessness. I have always said, regardless of what people say, this virus will prove its truth. Stay safe :)

Thanks for the appreciation, Heidi. You're right, of course, and of all people, YOU should really know!! Take good care, Gershon

Your words speak the truth, Gershon. Here in Texas it has gone absolutely crazy the last ten days. We have passed up Illinois for the total number of cases and it looks like we will pass New Jersey in a week. It just boggles my mind that people refuse to wear masks and don't take it seriously. John

I have a relative who lives in Austin. He moved from Manhattan a year ago. From the frying pan to the fire, I guess. Thanks for taking this poem and the pandemic seriously. We've got to 'unmask' the problem people. (Pun intended). Always appreciate your comments. Thanks, John! Take good care, Gershon

Tragic is the word Gershon, over here the fine weather has brought everyone out, and caution has been thrown away, we've had spikes too. The WHO have said the virus has gone when the last country reports no more infections Tom

According to WHO is the virus going away?! lol. -- According to Drumpf, the POTUS, that's WHO! A pox on his anti-science outlook. Best we can do here is ignore him, thereby consigning him to the irrelevancy he has so richly earned. ~ Gershon
