Notes About The Poem

Just Shadows Lingering

I dreamt a dream of my now dead family.
         Just shadows lingering -
All I have are memories actually.
That find me standing in a cemetery.
On a night dark with purple inkiness.
And voices are murmuring and whispering.
I have no fear for these ghosts are harmless.
A small girl beside me is glimmering.
        Just shadows lingering -

And I am holding my sweet little baby boy.
          Just shadows lingering -
I was never to know motherhood joy.
But this sadness my life did not destroy.
And in the shadows mother is drifting.
She has an ethereal wispy beauty.
Dad and grandma also in this sad dreaming.
And my love kisses my red lips sweetly.
          Just shadows lingering -

Oh all these beloved ghosts that just want to stay.
A tangled past that makes me the poet, I am today.

always you are so profound when writing of these beloved persons in your life. Everything you have gone through makes you the sensitive poet that you are today, dear.
