Just a Few More Times

I look into your eyes, Your tear-filled eyes, And it’s over. I’m back, Back in your arms again. I hear your voice, Hear it crack. My heart breaks in half. Tears fill my eyes. I bury my head in your shoulder. I silently begin to cry. Unaware of your wet sleeve, You kiss my head and say: I’m sorry, babe. I shouldn’t have said that. I can’t imagine, How bad that must have hurt you. I was stupid. If you’ll give me another chance, I promise I’ll fix this. I’m so sorry, babe. I start to talk, So you would stop. You can’t cry. I couldn’t take it. You take my hand, I kiss your cheek. You smile, And kiss me back, Just a few more times. Your phone vibrates. It’s your mom. I look into your eyes, Giving you my best puppy-dog eyes. You smile and kiss me, Just a few more times. You say, I’ll see you tomorrow, babe. I smile and kiss you, Just a few more times.
