Just a Big Green Fly

Just a Big Green Fly I’m a big green fly on your kitchen wall; I try to hide, I can, I won’t fall. I see your croissant, make a note to myself, The cook kissing the maid, will she tell? You see me on the light, when it’s time to go, Grab the fly swatter, I’m a flyer, not slow, Don’t blame me, your secrets I keep, Just a big green fly, so still while you sleep.

I love poems about flies, all kinds, but especially musca domestica (common housefly). I've written enough of them to publish a slime volume! Many thanks for reading "Grape Preserves." It's based on my boyhood experiences. Best to you. / M

How many times have we all said, "I'd love to be a fly on the wall?" This was fun Sunlite and oh, if those flies could really talk. : )
