If one is fortunate to have a loving grandmother during your childhood, there is magic in treasures she gifted you back then, treasures which will last well into your adult life, that inspire the child within you, to remain, or at least, be called back in. I love this short yet profound write you have gifted us. In 1971, my grandmother thrust a copy of "Rebecca" into my 9 year old hands at a time when escape was sorely required. I read that treasure in one sitting with loud calls to come and eat... usually cake and sweets...Congrats on a well deserved and beautiful write. xx

Paula, this is such a gem filled with poignant depth and wisdom. When cleaning out closets the hardest things for me to give away are the items from family with their sweet memories! I have some of those kitchen towels! Congratulations on your POTD! Blessings!

Paula, little treasures bring back great memories. I still have an old potholder I made at a playground Arts & Craft for children when I was 10 yrs old. I gave it to my mother, and she kept it all these years. Congratulations on POTD! Charlie

Hi Paula, somethings which may seem trifles and junk in some eyes may remain priceless to some. A thing becomes valuable not based merely on its money value or utility. Certain things become so dear to some because of the sentimental value they possess. Congratulations on your POTD and also for your win in the contest

I use one of those silly sponge things to polish my shoes… they’re useless. I have my Grandmothers shoe brushes and never use them… but I’ll never part with them! A smashing sentimental write, Paula

What a-sweet poem Paula! So glad you got the homours of a POTD. I recently found a little horse rolling. I got in third grade.. that was over 75 years ago zowie. And a bracelet that I got on the boardwalk Atlantic City …when I was nine years old. It is so pretty.. Pangie’ xx
