Judged At First Sight

A moment, a glimpse Was enough to make up your mind It bears a gossip for your lips My character harshly defined With grime on my shoes I pay less attention to my looks Clothes within my reach is all I choose Judged by the covers, like the books On our very first meet I smiled to you but lost your eye contact You eyeballed me head to feet Your hello had a tone of distrust My accent, attracts dissent You misjudge me if it is foreign Always lost in the translations Never rescued without a stereotype Look into my eyes, and not my garment Listen to my words and not my accent Know me by the day and by the night And you won’t judge me at first sight

Sad some people are so quick to judge or misjudge in most cases. It's a harsh world you captured in this poem, Michelo. Great message. Well done.
