My uncle was blessed with a belly And like Santa, it jiggled like jelly When he yelled, it so shook That it echoed and took ... All day to know just what the hell he ... hell he ... hell he ... wanted!

Ha! I like that word, John! And thanks so much ... I took some license with this one, but had a lot of fun with it! Blessings! :-)

Great limerick, Greg!! A few liberties taken with the final line, but works well! And what's life without bending a few rules?! :). Kind regards, John.

Thanks so much, John, I'm glad you enjoyed it - yes, my "artistic license" with the last line cost me a placement, (as I knew it would), but it would not have worked otherwise, and I'm more about the reader than the contest. Blessings, Friend! :-)

Wonderful limerick, Greg. Like any great artist has a show stopping extended ending finale, such is the case w/this very humorous limerick. I hope the PF police (Poetic Form), those syllable strictarians don't hold it too much against you for that fabulous last line. I loved it. Such a cool poem. Love and smiles always.

Thank you, my brother - I'm very pleased you enjoyed it! I pretty much knew it wasn't going to place because of those extra syllables, but I used my poetic "license" just the same, as it would not have worked otherwise. No worries, as I say I knew it wouldn't place, but I had fun with it just the same ... and it was my first Limerick, haha! Thanks again, Friend! ;-)

Hi Gregory... When I reread your poem, I thought it certainly merited at least an HONOURABLE MENTION... and then, that's when I noticed the picture you added - now that is SERIOUSLY disturbing...

loved the pic and the ending sure is creative Greg, although it's not your typical limerick format of 5 lines :-) It will be interesting to see what the sponsor makes of the poem:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks, Jan - I'm sure it will NOT place, but I had fun with it just the same ... in my opinion, even the greatest poets would not have been half as renowned if they had never taken "license", and the word-play of this one required extra syllables ... so be it! I'm pleased with it and had fun ... that's what's important, I think, and that others may get a kick out of it. :-)
