Jesus: Importance of His Birth and Death

To erase man's sins, Jesus Christ was born,
Each year held in worldwide celebration,
but the Bethlehem story is well worn.

He died for the sake of our salvation.
His death should be honored for this reason,
each year held in worldwide celebration.

Songs of praise sung to Him in the season
for the life He gave, not as babe but man.

Jesus' life was offered as God's plan.
His only Son would be resurrected

To cruel torture He was subjected.
Imagine the sorrow God was feeling...

With thanks to God's Son, I am kneeling.

I believe Christmas is for children, young children. The reason for the season is whatever one wants to believe it is. It's entirely too commercialized anymore. I just dont get the vibe. However, you are correct, the way I understand it. Jesus died for our salvation.

Thanks so much, Tom. To me, Jesus' death, and the reason for it, is much more important than to portray him as a baby year after year. Because of his sacrifice, we have hope of eternal life. For those who disagree, please respect my belief as I do your right to yours.
