Story Pin-bilde

- Jacob Born With Down Syndrome -

                      Striving to be happy all the time is unrealistic
                             Your child born with Down syndrome
                   The early years were driven by fear and ignorance
                                  Life became more complex -
                               constantly trying to find balance
                                   Jacob has difficulty learning -
                           born into a world where one does not fit
                             All children have enormous potential
                 Support your child in making decisions at any time in life

                                                 ~~~
                                       Jacob loved lullabies
                                      could see it in his eyes
                                  He listens and communicates
                                using movements, no rule relates
                                 Skilled at drawing and painting
                                  I rarely hear him complaining
                                   It's fun to play Super Mario
                                    but, Superman is his hero
                                   Jacob flies around all day
                                a completely normal child's play
I love the special needs kids on my bus. This school year the only child who can talk only says words like "happy" or "yes" and "no." They are so loveable. Congratulations on your win in my contest.
Anne-Lise, thank-you for bringing this to the fore. There are a lot of "different" people around, and we do want to appreciate them all. That sometimes takes time and love, and we can do it. Life is too short for us not to. Smiles!!
All children need is love and care and someone who is always there. Jacob is happy and loved, that’s wonderful… Beryl
Love them! Love them! Love them! Well said, Anne. I ran a non-profit for many years, did medical transport. So your subject is close to home. Blessings my friend.
Handling a child with down syndrome is not easy for parents. But most of such kids are talented in one way or other. Finding out their special talent and encouraging them will make them as happy as Jacob. This is indeed a very heartfelt piece. All the Best, Anne! Love and hugs.
