I'Ve Just Deleted My 'Potd'

There's something I have to say
   I've just deleted my 'Poem of the Day'

Titled 'Prayer of Separation'
   It was a complete abomination

It didn't deserve an award
   It deserved at best to be ignored

Of this poem I was totally ashamed
   Though I had no one but myself to blame

My lesson I hope I've learned
   And any condemnation ~ rightly earned

I nominate THIS poem for POTD. It's a poet's prerogative to fold, spindle, or mutilate their own creations. By choosing to press the delete key, you have demonstrated that any creator should have the last word in how they are perceived and remembered.

A baffled one for me as I didn't see the POTD, but I can resemble when I deleted a winning one in some other platform, not for others perception but for my own satisfaction ... Silpika

Well that clears up the (System Error 500) that keeps appearing when I search for POTD, congratulations on your decision to declare it null and void, whatever the poem was Gershon, guess I’ll never know like so many things in life, cheers David

The poem you deleted, a limerick I think, had all the qualities of a limerick...bawdy and ribald implications. I believe it was chosen by the ever confused "algorithm" of PS because of its seemingly religious title. As for its deletion...YOUR POEM...YOUR CHOICE....

Gershon, my friend, I must confess that I was somewhat surprised by the awarded POTD your poem received, when I personally didn't find the poem possessing the quality you usually give us. Just sayin'. I congratulated you because I always want to applaud your work, but you made the right decision, so, I applaud you again!!!

Sorry Gershon, I missed that one, so I can’t really comment. But I am sometimes surprised that a poem I think is not too bad, gets rapturous applause, whilst another that I feel is quite special, gets nigh on blanked. Maybe sometimes, we’re not our own best judges. Cheers. Terry

Actually, I think that often I'm not my best judge, but in this case, the appeals process has been suspended. (It was trash, Terry).
