It's Solacing

It's solacing, December's snow and breezes that in summer blow. And how it cheers my soul to see in spring the blossoms on my tree, and see in fall its leaves' bright glow. And after rain, to spy a bow that's stretched across the sky to show a promise made to you and me. . . it's solacing. How sweet are Nature's ebb and flow. But things are changing; soon we'll know Earth's stress may have no remedy! But while things go as they should go. . . it's solacing. For Brian Strand's 5-14 Lines Contest.

No solacing me when winter comes on. I'm getting too old for the freeze. This is a fine poem though, Andrea. Love, daver

What an enchanting poem, Andrea - full of rythm and words that touch the heart. Earth is really stressed by human crime against nature. You have gently pointed to that in your poem. You have a unique way of driving home your point. Thanks for your heartwarming comments on my poem 'Big Heart' -Mohammad

Don't worry about the books. Yours will not be sent for awhile either - I am adding some of my lastest works to it when I get back to Canada later this week, so it probably won't go in the mail until the end of January. Lainie

Beautiful Rondeau, Andrea. I have yet to write one. You inspire me. In answer to your questions - Yes! It was our last goodbye, although I did not know it at the time. I was in my early thirties- home for a family visit form Vancouver where I was living at the time. Grandma came to see me off at the airport when I was returning. She told me it would be the last time I saw her and I laughed and said, oh Gram - I will be back again soon. She died shortly after. Love, Lainie

The ebb and flow makes for something to talk about if nothing else but I feel that if it constantly stayed the same we would be very bored with the weather. Keep the creative writes coming. Sara
