It's All Up To You
What if this is as good as it gets?
If your dreams never took flight,
and your life was a wordless book.
You never got to travel and see
the world through birds' eyes.
And never got to make truth
to all your lies.
You never got to "meet the one"
and fall madly in love.
And never got to get a tattoo,
something symbolic, like a dove.
You never got to dive in the sea,
and count the many fish
And never got to throw a
penny and make a wish.
You never got to help someone
who was in dire need.
And never stood up and
took a lead.
You never realized that sometimes
you don't get choices in life,
but you stuck to what it gave you.
Didn't think you deserved more
didn't know that, you and only
you can make it better.
So stop worrying about what
you missed out on and start
trying for what you want,
because it is what you make it.
