John I'd love to steal your work
But I’d look a complete berk
We know stealing is wrong
Unless you come from Ding Dong
some need to do their homework!

I would never take the work of another - if a poem inspires me to write I do ask permission from the original writer if I can base a poem on their work - I recently wrote one called 'call the midwife' which was inspired by Maurice Rigoler':-) hugs Jan xx

Yeah, I saw that. She commented on my page, but she hasn't stolen my work yet. If she comes after me I'm just gonna thank her for posting my material for more people to read. THAT'S RIGHT, DOUBLE EXPOSURE!

LOL Dan - I have never and will never take the work belonging to another - why people are targettin Anne lise, PD and Catie is beyond my comprehension - a 'new' account has posted 4 of Anne lise's poems today - what is soup coming to:-( hugs Jan xx

Oh no, not again. I'm really horrified that this is still going on especially with Anne Lise and PD. These two poets I greatly admire. Now I'm going to have to go and read John Wulf's poem. Sorry to say Eve has left Poetry Soup for good this time and will not be coming back. She now belongs to a Canadian Christian poetry site. Can't say I really blame her. She's actually writing her fourth book now and hoping to have it done by Christmas or New Years of next year. Enjoyed this limerick of yours Jan. Will be back later.

yes!!! Great limerick Jan (As always) and nice of you to speak about plagiarism. It's terrible to do that to someone. In high school this girl stole my notebook and turned in my poem for English Literature class! I was so mad. She got a big fat F and I got a big fat A!! lol You are the best at limericks, in case I never told you lol have a bright day lovely lady :)-luloo

Oh I bet that was a sweet victory for you LuLoo - sadly to see plagerism on the site of souper's own poems is very sad to see - I remember it happened to another male member some time back - just hope soup remove the perpetrators and soon but they were on the site about 20 mins ago:-( hugs Jan xx

Thanks for speaking up they should do something about plagiarism, I should know I had a song stolen from me in the eighties and it went to #4 on the charts made millions didn't see a dime, stopped writing for 30 years

John that is such a terrible thing to happen to you - sadly there are some very dishonest people around trying to pull the wool over people's eyes when they have stolen the poems from elsewhere. Poor Anne Lise had her haiku posted on soup verbatim - such a shame TPS has not dealt with the complaints and closed the account of the perpertrator:-( hugs Jan xx
