It wasn’t me
it really wasn’t
not like me at all
and come to think of it
It wasn’t you
Either
We were in a kind of
war zone
and people do
strange things
in times of war
Strange things like
lashing out
at the one person
who has your back
Strange things like
questioning
the loyalty of
everyone you know
Under siege for so long
hard to remember
sometimes-
we are not
at war with each other
