It Was In My Mouth
I felt her gaze upon me
With unavoidable bright eyes
Her adoration made me smile
She is so innocent, yet so wise
I swooped her up and held her close
That's when it all went south
With the speed of an anteater
My dog Pixies tongue was in my mouth!
Her mouth may be cleaner than mine
That didn't dampen my chagrin
Because I forgot, and licked my lips
Even knowing where that tongue had been!
