It Started with a Blank Canvas

It started with a blank canvas, and it was in the morning that the artist began painting his most cherished place. First he dipped his brush, and dark blue consumed the top half of the canvas. Aqua next appeared beneath the deep blue. On the aqua’s horizon, the artist painted the white mast of a sailboat. Two gulls soared in the cloudless blue. At last appeared the tan of sand and a green palm tree nearby a chair on which was lounging the artist’s lovely wife.

A lovely visual…first to sport what the eye sees then the beholder - all caught on a blank canvas and in the imagination of the poet!

Dear Andrea, Your poem is a masterful depiction of the creative process and the power of imagination. Through your words, I was transported to the serene scene you painted with such vivid detail and emotion. The way you describe the artist’s journey from an empty canvas to a vibrant seaside tableau is truly captivating. Each stroke of the brush is imbued with intention and meaning, allowing me the reader to witness the birth of something beautiful and deeply personal. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into your world of creativity and inspiration. Your poem shows transformative power of art and the boundless possibilities of the human imagination. - Blessings, Daniel
