The highlight of the Jersey shore
at Seaside Heights, it is no more;
the famous park's old Ferris wheel
that kids looked forward to with zeal.
The sounds of music, loud and clear
along the boardwalk, all would hear,
and to the wheel the kids would run;
for generations, had such fun.
Most children, grandkids knew the thrill;
the wheel spun 'round, was never still.
Until one day, two-thousand-twelve,
this old-time joy would then be shelved.
When 'Sandy Superstorm' arrived
not much within the park survived.
The sound of children, music, stopped;
with roars of wind and sea were swapped
The howls of wind did make their rounds,
replaced kid's laughter, happy sounds.
Collapsed and twisted storm debris
would squeal and screech coldheartedly.
Amusement park's old Ferris wheel
that kids looked forward to with zeal;
the highlight of the Jersey shore,
at Seaside Heights...it is no more.

The new Ferris Wheel finally opened this summer, 2017...it took five years to rebuild. However, the vintage, old-time flavor is gone with the Ferris wheel and boardwalk
