It is hard to succeed if
I think deep down most of us know,
There have been times in our life,
That we have failed,
To grasp success by the hand,
Because we were afraid,
Of where it may lead us,
And that we might become like the few standouts,
Who give success a bad name.
Humans, with few standout exceptions,
Have for far too long been afraid of the unknown,
And settled for the perceived safety of the known,
Which in too many minds is constant failure,
And spending a lifetime peddling that view of the world.
But hope,
Has not abandoned us and each day I see evidence of that,
As the number people who are prepared to go,
On stage,
Appear on film,
Share conversations with others,
On the nature of success, grows.
So, anyone who wants to watch, listen and learn, can,
Because they too had trouble embracing success,
With many failed attempts to put,
What they thought they knew about the nature of success behind them.
There are enough standouts among such people,
Who are willing to not only speak about their path to success,
But to become your mentor,
So, seize the day and let them help you take that first step,
That will give you a chance to sing a different tune from the rooftops,
If you take the elevator instead of the stairs.
