It Happened In My Texas

It Happened in My Texas

They came to His courts with praise and prayer,
And the devil lurked behind them;
The nut with the gun that the devil used
Is gone, but current comfort to them is spare;
Though we know God’s love is embracing them.
(There were angels singing as souls were carried
To their heavenly king); but
There is no way for we humans to understand,
Until we meet them face to face.
For now the gift of hope prevails that

They are in a better place.

A tragedy beyond words, Sunlite, I agree with your last line, though we can't understand why it was allowed...

Lord Tennyson may have said it best outside of scripture. Ours Is Not To Reason Why. I fear this may well be "the tip of an iceberg" of the days to come. Some call it "days of tribulation". Pray that Jesus comes quickly. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us on the soup. oldbuck

I am so sorry Sunny One that happened. All I can say but it does not change anything. I wish I could take away the greed and pain.

You are right, Sunshine. As we speak there is someone going around in our neighborhood and going in unlocked houses while the people are in them!

This is so true my friend! We don't know the reason for the senseless deaths of all these innocent people, but the Lord has them with Him and is glad to have them home, as they are really as happy to be there, but those left on Earth are saddened by their sudden departure! This is a grandiose poem based on this horrendous occurrence! What a remarkable piece, Great Work!!

They are in a better place--but this violence keeps repeating--thank for tackling this apt topic, SW!
