It Had Already Been Written

I wanted to write for you

the most beautiful love poem
that had ever been seen

But once I gazed into your eyes
I realized…

it had already been written

Words written straight to the heart, love these compact poems! Do you have a syllable count or word count to follow? Line count restriction? I would like to try one. a7

Actually John, no. I do try to follow the form I have written this in. 1 line, 2 lines, 2 lines, 1 line with the ending line being the title of the work. Though sometimes I do bend the rules, but they are my rules so bending is accepted. :) I know, weird. Thanks so much my friend for your kindness. I will look to see if you write one.

Chris this entry is a hallmark card. It truly is and words that are shared between two special people. Who ever said poetry has to be of length is wrong. It was nice to see you posting today. Enjoy the night.

Ohhhh, love it - short and to the point but so sweetly romantic! You need to teach those young roosters out there how to woo a woman - too many are clueless! 7! Pandita

Yep, it's another compact poem. Thanks so much Darren for reading, recognizing the form and for leaving such kind thoughts for me. Maybe we should add that to the list,...make "compact" a poetic form on the form tab. :)
