It!

IT See how things droop It’s cloudy REALLY socked-in With just a few drops Humidity? High! Been that way all day It always starts from the shoulders down Parts of me feel? ummm slimy I’ve poured a cup of strong coffee (how stupid) Chin up! Thinking Trying to erase my discomfort by scribbling a reason why? All the reason in the world – sweat! wet! gooey! But why? Am I not to a fish related going back WAY back! When that first slimy gooey thing first related itself to the land by slithering ashore and STAYING! That’s it! Gooey! Slithering! Slimy! How uncomfortable IT must have felt I see the entire globe surrounded by heavy clouds SOCKED-IN! Patches of land are just beginning to appear and This gooey thing slopped on the first primordial beach Uncomfortable? Yes! But? IT is spent cannot slither back into the sea By the time IT’S strength has returned – too late! The land has risen from the sea TRAPPED! EXACTLY! Exactly how I feel – gooey slimey slithery A shower will help A cold shower As close as I can come to that ancient ancestor of mine That THING! That IT! IT? THING? Yes! Exactly how I feel

Now this is an interesting story. I know exactly the feeling you discribe, but never attributed it to that distant of history. I like it.

Been sweating up a storm pressure-washing in 100-degree heat and strong humidity today, so I can really relate to that "gooey, slimey, slithery" feeling. "IT" has slithered back from the slimey Gulf Coast and you'll find ITs tarballs on the beaches. LOL Excellent write, Daver! Love, Carolyn

gosh, sounds like you are discussing that terrible humidity I grew up with in Iowa, DAver!! I guess Utah's dry heat is much better, although the first time I felt it, It was as if I were being locked in an oven! I dont' believe we came from fish. but what do I know. haha. Luv, Andrea
