Notes About The Poem

Is There a Lost and Found In Heaven

Adrift within the silence
of emotive reflection,

leads to a moment of
absentmindedness,

tip of his tired tongue
sentimentally sighs her name.

Sudden state of sadness overcomes him -
reality hurts, for his shadow is a reminder
of empty dreams - a timelss void.

Somber spirits self deprecate,
questioning and wondering -
if there is a lost and found in heaven?

His soul battles between smiling and crying.
He knows even the most stunning sunrise,
could not justify her elegance.

Once again his healing heart weeps -
removing his brave face,
revealing his jaded eyes,
because he is not OK
and it seems, maybe,
he is meant to feel this way,
as nothing has really changed.

Hi Silent one, this one made me cry and think - cry with your hurt, and think that hopefully the title of your poem does come to fruition for us all one day! A beautiful poem! Poetry hugs, Jenny.

Hi Silent, once again your words come straight from the heart. Such sadness radiates from your words. A piece of poetic grace that does grip the heart as one reads. The emotions are real, the pain is real. Such beauty held within such sad lines my friend. You at your best Silent. Let your heart sing on my friend. Have a wonderful end to your Sunday. Your friend always....Mike.

Reading and re-reading I am lost in the sadness. Such a true emotional depiction of grieving someone you love. Once again his healing heart weeps - removing his brave face, revealing his jaded eyes ... brilliance!!!!!

I hope there is a "lost and found" in heaven too, ZZ. There we'll find those we've lost here on earth and smile once again to feel the joy of love of our homecoming at last. Love this sad but meaningful poem. I felt every word. And, FAVED of course....

It seems the loss is felt by those left behind. Perhaps what is found in heaven is so much happiness that losses are forgotten there. Interesting question, SO. Love the tender quality of your poem, Carolyn

There will be no tears in Heaven. My heart rejoices knowing this fact. Those that have gone on before us, we do long to be with them. This is beautiful and emotional. ~ Brandy

I did not read the title at first, and I thought his love had left him. She did indeed, I figure out as we moved along to the 'lost and found in heaven.' This part "His soul battles between smiling and crying." explains the grieving process so exceedingly well, as the unexpected bursts of tears and burst of laughter are the tell-tale signs. Emotive write, Silent One. Very well done.

An excellent emotive write! I just heard Amy Grant’s song Better Than A Hallelujah which also expresses the sadness of the heart. It seems to say that perhaps the tears that fall, the cries that come from our soul are also a hallelujah. Happy New Year, my friend!
