How the weather changes her flights like a moody woman’s temperament! A sunny beat trails along the lane where birdsongs drone of summer’s glow; my cotton dress bopping through morning air. Then in a haste, pour of rain gushes at 4 pm to douse my tresses, flat like a broom. Oh, her capricious whims spoil time's ritual until I crawl under a broken umbrella and torn kerchief, wiped out as a rinsed duckling. And she laughs the night away, huffing gusty winds across impetuous clouds leaving me with a rattle of sneezes. Though I am annoyed, irked by her ways: rainy, sunny, windy all in a day; my exasperation, sadly, has no force against this goddess' elemental power. Mother Nature is indeed a force to reckon with! I love this excellent piece, dear Nette, that paints an awesome picture of her mood swings! And it is so annoying that we have no choice but to give in to her whims and fancies:-)! Congratulations on a top of the class win! Pandita

Now THIS is a great idea for the contest my friend! Irked by Mother Nature huh? Love the phrase 'rattle of sneezes' especially. Over here she's not it a good mood either...Brutal heat averaging 100 degrees with a heat index through the roof...BIG congrats - Tim

- A myth that Norwegians are "born with skis on their feet" ...... they should have been born with umbrella in hand - Good luck in the contest, Nette - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Someone like her is hard to get-- flighty and exciting, but not today, after a rough traffic. I bow to master poet who can take a concept and whip it up!

I go nutty with this fickle" rain and shine" weather. This incredibly expressive poem certainly hits home--- the umbrella, kerchief, and bad hair make this verse zing!

Spectacular poetry! The imaginative rant of your words catches my attention as I feel myself trying to outrun mother nature as well! Glad to have placed in your contest. Thank you so!

The reader is certain that would never be irked by your poetry but uplifted, dear Nette. As far as the old lady is concerned we have to put up with her caprices for she is the only lady around! Wonderfully done. Good luck and a seven!

She is one erratic, unpredictable lady! I like how your rhythm changed as the poem went along, from describing sun, rain, to wind. Excellent portrayal of climactic change! Thank you for liking my entry!
