Introspective Rumblings
Monsters lurk in dark corners of my mind;
fueling hate and raw, primal urges.
And adept at guile, cunning, and finesse,
they're invisible; thus invincible.
Preachers fishing for the souls of sinners;
use paradise as an alluring bait.
But a faith that is tainted by untruths;
retains the pungent aftertaste of lies.
Sane and insane coexist in my mind;
and I am unsure which describes me best.
Yet, madness is no excuse for failure;
for reality is a cruel test.
Love can be both a curse and a blessing;
it can break your heart or give life meaning.
And though evil's no friend, I know its ways;
corrupting the morals of innocence.
Between birth and death, I'll experience
every emotion human beings feel.
And yet, no one cares that I existed;
they're too self-immersed to get to know me.
